Obituary of Kerry D. Pompey

Kerry Darnell Pompey, 57, “Merc” and “Uncle Pop” of Troy, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at his residence.

 

Born in Troy, Kerry is the son of Neomi Dukes Pompey and the late Roosevelt Pompey.

 

Kerry enjoyed music, singing, dancing, and telling jokes. He was a natural comedian.

 

He had been employed at Slidin Dirty in Troy.

 

In addition to his mother Neomi, he is the devoted father of Sha’Quana Pompey, Elijah Pompey, and Shayla Pompey, dear brother of Roosevelt “Willie” (Linda) Pompey, Trell Pompey, Mark “Wally” (Dawn) Pompey and Paul Pompey, also survived by two grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cosuins, relatives and friends.

 

The Home Going Service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York.

 

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

 

Interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
