

Obituary of John Mrozko
John Stephen Mrozko, 97, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Born in Cohoes, NY, in 1927 he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Wrobel) Mrozko and was a graduate of Cohoes High School. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II and was awarded the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal and his Honorable Discharge.
Mr. Mrozko retired in 1987 from General Electric Knolls Atomic power plant in Schenectady where he had been an Electrician for 39 years.
He loved to work with his hands and could fix just about anything.
He enjoyed knowledge and going to the library where he would spend many hours doing research
Beloved husband of the late Lois M. Liberty Mrozko for 62 years until her passing on April 29, 2020, devoted father of Stephen J. Mrozko of Greenfield Center NY, Linda M. (Larry) Daignault of Edenton NC, Debra A. (Raymond) Proctor of Stillwater NY and Kenneth W. Mrozko of Colonie NY, brother of Dorothy (late, Anthony) Smith of Waterford and Stasia (late Al )Oreshan of Colonie, cherished grandfather of Jacob Daignault, Samantha Proctor (Joseph), Joshua Daignault ( Taylor ),Nathan Proctor and beloved great-grandfather of Kylah and was eagerly anticipating the birth of his second great granddaughter due inMay.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Interment with military honors will be held in private at the convenience of the family in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville where John will be reunited with his beloved wife Lois.
