Obituary of David Smail

David Smail- Hoosick Falls, NY

David was born in Binghamton, NY, to Paul and Alice Smail on January 29, 1941.

He was raised in Wyoming, PA, until moving to Highland Park, NJ, where he worked for Ford Motor Company in Edison, NJ, for 45 years.

David's passion for photography was a testament to his creativity. He enjoyed collecting cameras and capturing the beauty of his adventures, always with his beloved Wife, Eileen, by his side.

Upon retirement in 2004, David moved to Hoosick Falls, NY, where he resided for 20 years, enjoying his family, traveling, and searching for treasures at flea markets & camera shows.

Preceded in Death by his daughter, Barbara Rehder, son-in-law, Mike Rotila, & daughter-in-law, Sharin Fowler.

David's love for his family was unwavering. He is survived by his devoted Wife, Eileen Smail, and his Children: Deborah Mosiniak, Kenneth Smail, Randall Fowler, Lori Fresina (Anthony), and Amy Bouda (Stefan). Brother, Thomas Smail, (Angie), and Sister, Lorraine Dobroski, and 16 grandchildren. His love and guidance will be cherished forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and to the Funeral Service that afternoon at 3:30 p.m. both in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the staff at St. Peter's Hospice Inn for their unwavering care. A special mention goes to Dr. Charlene Ives at NYOH in Troy and Community Hospice Nurse Jamie Borge, whose dedication exceeded all expectations.
