Obituary of George W. Probert

George W. Probert, 81, of Clifton Park, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at his residence.

 

Born in Englewood, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Alma Bennett Probert and was a graduate of Bergenfield High School, Rutgers University (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering) and Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned his Masters Degree.

 

Mr. Probert retired from General Electric in Schenectady where he had been a Mechanical Engineer.

 

George loved boating, German Shepherds and spending time at the family lake house in Locke Mills, ME. He had been a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Clifton Park.

 

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years Mary K. Sulik Probert on May 8, 2016.

 

Devoted father of Jennifer K. Probert, DVM (significant other Noah Brother) and dear brother of Joan Seaman (brother-in-law Peter) also survived his nephews Matthew and Jeffrey.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Jonesville Cemetery, Town of Clifton Park. (use GPS directions to 5 Longkill Rd., Ballston Lake, NY 12019)
