

Obituary of John R. Leonard
John R. Leonard, 86, of Troy, NY, passed away on June 21st, 2025 at Albany Medical Center from heart complications. He had a peaceful death surrounded by his wife and daughter.
John was born in Albany, NY on January 22nd 1939 to his beloved mother, Jeanette McDermott (Boudreau). After serving his country in the Army National Guard, he worked for 46 years at Teledyne Gurley in Troy, NY, where he eventually retired.
He was a intelligent, quick-witted man with a great sense of humor. He loved to go camping, sailing, and fishing. He was a fan of country music and the NY Giants. As he got older, he enjoyed quiet nights at home and almost never missed an episode of Jeopardy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Louise Leonard (Ciraulo), his daughter Donna Leonard, sister Donna Landrigan, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his brother Donald Leonard.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Morris - Stebbins - Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 and to his Funeral service on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in memory of John to the American Heart Association.
