It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian on August 17th after a long illness.
Born May 23, 1939 in Troy, NY, he served honorably in the United States Army; taught at B.O.C.E.S. for more than 20 years; and was an active member in the Schuylerville community and Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion in Schuylerville, spearheading the Legion catering functions for many years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret Bayly, his son Colin Bayly, his parents, Harry Archer Sr. and Veronica Dingley Bayly; five brothers, Harry (Bud) Jr. and Bernard (Joe), Barry, Blake, Brad; and four sisters, Beverly Durivage, Bernice (Bonnie) Couch, Barbara Consaul and Beryl Hunter.
He is survived by his children Kelly (Richard) Goldenberg of Schuylerville, Brian (Louie Pagoulatos) Bayly of Upper Darby, PA, Casey (Terry) Anderson of Saratoga Springs, Shannon (Todd) Silva of Ballston Lake, and Megan (Robert) Devanney of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Samuel (Megan), Alexa and Delaney Goldenberg, Bayly (John) Rittmiller, Kiernan (Danielle), Cohan and Aiden Anderson, Abigail and Audrey Silva, and Ryan and Caitlin Devanney; one great grandchild, Marcella Rittmiller; one brother, Benjamin (Shirley); three sisters, Bette Talham, Brenda (James) Buckley, and Bernadette (Richard) Jackson.
A celebration of life will be held on September 8, 2025, from 11am to 2pm at The Factory 30 Prospect Street, Ballston Spa.
A private committal service will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family desires that memorial contributions be made to SAFER food pantry (12 Spring St. Schuylerville, NY 12871) or Kelly’s Angels (kellysangelsinc.org) in memory of Brian J. Bayly.
