Obituary of LeRoy E. Bagley, II
West Palm Beach Florida~ Leroy E. "Murph" Bagley, II, born in Albany, NY, March 25, 1946 to the late Leroy and Ethel Rivers Bagley, passed away peacefully with his beloved brother Dennis and his favorite sister in law Katie by his side on December 10, 2025. He is safe in the arms of his Savior Jesus and reunited with loved ones gone before him.
Leroy was born and raised in the South End of Albany, NY. He attended Albany schools. He enlisted in the US Army and served his country honorably, after returning home from his military service he served his community by joining the Albany NY Fire Company in the early 70's. When he was riding on the back of Ladder 1 during a call the truck was hit and he suffered a disabling accident ending his career but not his love for his fellow firefighters. He proudly supported the firefighter community in any way he could. He met and married the love of his life Emily and together they enjoyed traveling and eventually in 1997 ended up moving to West Palm Beach. He had a passion for music and singing, and he enjoyed many summers at Woodstock Lake camping. He loved times with family around the fire and he put on some amazing cookouts. Leroy was an active member in the Elks both in Albany Lodge #49 and West Palm Beach Lodge # 1352. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 2010 Palm Beach Gardens. Leroy looked forward to the Army/Navy football games because he and Dennis would bet against each other and while watching the game there would be several phone calls in between and a lot of razzing. He loved to fish and back in the day enjoyed hunting too.
Murph will be loved and missed until we see him again.
Leroy is survived by his daughters, Ethel Bagley, Roberta Hotaling who he raised as his own (Wesley); brothers Dennis (Katie), John (Joann), Kevin (Valerie); Sister, Tina Bagley (Bernie). God Daughter Melissa Bagley (Billy) Several grandchildren and greatgrands, lots of family and friends. Leroy was predeceased by his beloved wife Emily Fruewhirth Bagley, his son Leroy E Bagley III, his brothers Charles and Richard Bagley, and by his loving nephews Dennis Bagley Jr., and Richard Bagley Jr.
In keeping with Murph’s wishes, there will not be any public services.
