Obituary of Raymond P. Nunez
Raymond P. Nunez, 60, of Delmar, N.Y., passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, surrounded by and in the loving care of his family.
He was born on July 28, 1965, in Cohoes, N.Y., and was the son of Beverly (Vertefeuille) Nunez and the late Edmundo S. Nunez, M.D.
Ray was a 1983 graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy, N.Y. He attended the University of Vermont and completed his education at the University of Phoenix, where he earned his B.S. in Business Marketing.
Ray began his career at Troy-Bilt/Garden Way in Lansingburgh, which evolved into positions with Husqvarna and John Deere, and for the past 10 years with Douglas Dynamics, Inc. in Milwaukee, Wis., where he served as North America Sales Manager.
Ray never let go of his love for music, which included his DJ business, Studio II. You could find him listening to everything from his favorite bands like AC/DC and 38 Special to Kenny G and Imagine Dragons. No music was off-limits during car rides or parties.
Ray loved cold-weather sports, especially hockey and snowmobiling. He cheered on his favorite team, the Washington Capitals, but his true favorite teams were the ones his children, Taylor and Zachary, played on. He passed on his passion for the ice to them and could often be found cheering them on at local rinks or driving all over the Northeast and Canada for their games. He also loved snowmobiling the Green Mountains of Vermont from the family camp in Woodford.
During the summer months, Ray could be found at his camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake, enjoying time on his boat with family and friends, relaxing in a beach chair in Wildwood, New Jersey, and, most recently, discovering a new love for Florida.
Ray enjoyed traveling—no place was too far to drive. Gathering family and friends for a good meal was one of his greatest joys. Ray was a kind and beautiful soul, generous in spirit, and always ready with a helping hand to anyone in need.
Ray was the beloved husband of Allison; devoted father of Taylor L. Nunez and Zachary R. Nunez; cherished son of Beverly; loving brother of Kimberly (Joe) Hardy, Edmund (Tricia) Nunez, Pamela (Brian) Hume, and Karen (Matt) Miller; dear son-in-law of Esther Laird (late Robert); and adored brother-in-law of Joan (Tom) Waddell. Ray is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Edmundo S. Nunez, M.D.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Ray’s life with his family during calling hours on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and also to join them for Raymond’s Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
