Obituary of Brian J. Wiley

Brian J. “BJ” Wiley, 61, of Lansingburgh, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Charles A. Wiley and Patricia Benden Wiley. He was a proud graduate of Lansingburgh High School, Class of 1984.

Brian retired from RPI of Troy in 2019, where he worked as a food inspector. Prior to that, he dedicated over 15 years to Troy All-State Heating and Plumbing.

Brian had a deep love for fishing, gardening, and cooking. He especially cherished his annual fishing trips with his brothers and friends, traditions filled with laughter and lasting memories. Above all, Brian had a generous heart. He loved taking care of others, and anyone who knew BJ knew his door was always open. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

He was the beloved father of Jessica Lynn Wiley (husband, Gabriel Casey) and the cherished “Gramps” of Joie Casey. He is also survived by his loving brothers, David Wiley, Gary Wiley (Mary), and Mark Wiley; and was predeceased by his brother Willis Wiley (Ann) and his sister Marcia Wiley Bowman. He is also survived by his dear aunt, Marcia McGraw, as well as several nieces, nephews, their families, and many close family friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182, on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m.
