Obituary of Leo N. Sousis

Leo N. Sousis, 58, of Brunswick, passed away unexpectedly while at the Fulton Center Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloversville on Sunday March 22, 2026.

Born and educated in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late William D. and Carol A. Bloomquist Sousis and the husband to Denise E. Richardson Sousis.

Leo was a very skilled craftsman and was a contractor with Smith’s Paving and Sealcoating in Troy. He had also worked with his son, Joey when he would have side jobs, partly for some extra money but mostly just to help Joey out and make things easier.

He enjoyed lending a hand to anyone in need, sharing laughs with those he loved, and being surrounded by family.

He loved his children, grandchildren, and the people who meant the most to him more than anything else.

Devoted father of Joseph Rubinski (fiancé, Saige Monk) and Lacee N. Sousis, stepfather to Karmin Cooney, Brooke Cooney, Konner Cooney, Robbe Cooney, Mike Cooney, Nicholas Richardson, and Chris Richardson, brother of Delia (James Scoville) Landfear, Caran Sousis, Carol Sousis, Frank (Samantha) Sousis, Charles (Allyse) Sousis, Brian (Dana) Sousis, William (Candace) Sousis, and the late William “BD” Sousis Jr., grandfather to Joseph Rubinski Jr., Roman Rubinski, Colson Rubinski, Ariel Rubinski, A’laylianna Sousis Payne, Jace Colon, Gianna Cooney, Kaydence Proper, Ayvah Seecharran, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and to the Funeral Service that afternoon at 12:30 p.m. which will be celebrated by Minister MacArthur Henderson all at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182
