Obituary of Matteo Giovanni Nardoia

JOHN NARDOIA

Matteo Giovanni Nardoia, "John", 62, unexpectedly entered into eternal life surrounded by and in the loving arms of his family on Friday, August 10, 2018.

Born in Cercemaggiore and raised in Ferazzano, Italy, he was the son of the late Michele and Francesca Nardoia.

John was a loyal and dedicated Baker at Bella Napoli Bakery in Troy for over 30 years where he was like family and was often referred to as "Little John".

John was a wonderful provider to his family and would never stop. He loved his gardens each summer and would always plant more than his wife, Mary Grace wanted. He also enjoyed making homemade wine annually and carrying on the annual tradition of making homemade sausage and prosciutto. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren who affectionately called him "Nonno".

Beloved husband of over 39 years to Mary Grace Spensieri Nardoia of Brunswick, loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Antonietta (husband, Zaki) Habak of Valley Falls, adored grandfather "Nonno" of Julian, Adriana and Laria Habak, loving brother of Mario (wife, Antonietta) Nardoia (their children, Michele and Francesca), Vincenzo (wife, Nicolina) Nardoia (their children, Luigi and Maria) Nardoia, Biagio Nardoia, Alberto (wife, Lucia) Nardoia (their son, Enrico), all of Italy and the late Giuseppe (wife, Clementina of Italy) Nardoia (their daughters, Anna and Gloria and Gloria's daughter, Nicole), cherished brother-in-law of Tony Spensieri of Brunswick, also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street in Troy thence to Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Entombment will be held St. Francis Assisi Garden Mausoleum in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made to a favorite charity of one's own choice.
