Obituary of Gloria M. Usher

Gloria Marie Usher, 92, of Ballston Lake, former long-time resident of Westerlo, peacefully entered into eternal life following a very brief illness on Friday, November 30, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Born in Astoria, Queens, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga Prucha Siebek and the beloved wife of over 52 years to Edward "Ed" Usher who passed away on February 20, 2007. Following graduation from high school, she then graduated from Georgian Court University and earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Fordham University.

Mrs. Usher was dedicated to her career in Social Work and retired from the ARC in Albany where was Department Manger. She had previously held positions in her field at Catholic Charities and Hospitality House, both in Albany.

Gloria was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and did not miss a game of the regular or post seasons. She grew up being able to attend games and root on the legends of Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle as well as to follow all of the other Yankees greats that followed. She loved caring for her plants, gardening, travelling and planned to spend Christmas at Disney World in Florida with her family. She loved her dog "Duke" who recently passed, but most all spending time with her great grandson "Junior", granddaughter Jennifer, daughter Margaret and son-in-law Mark. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake.     

Devoted mother of Margaret A. (Mark) Wagner, cherished "Grandma" and adored "GiGi" of Jennifer Jusino her son Vecar "Junior" Wade, Jr. and to Nikki Wagner, Matthew Wagner and Brendan (Jaimee) Wagner.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Rite of Christian Burial service which will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, New York 12871.                          (Those attending are asked to please gather between 11:05 a.m and 11:25 a.m. on the right side of the cemetery boulevard as you enter the cemetery and the funeral will process together at 11:30 a.m. to the shelter where the service will take place.) Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Catholic Charities, 40 North Main Ave, Albany, NY 12203, in memory of Gloria M. Usher.
