Obituary of Helen Marie Orr

Helen Marie Orr, 89, of Tallow Wood Drive died on Wednesday Dec. 5, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY.  She was born on May 13, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Paul and Maude Robertson Maher.  She was the wife of the late Raymond Orr who died on June 24, 1974.  Helen was a housewife and homemaker while raising their 6 children.   She had retired from the NYS Police in Albany as an administrative assistant and had served there for 22 years.  She was an avid bicycle rider and reader.  Helen was a longtime volunteer for the YMCA in Clifton Park and had been a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers.

She was the devoted mother of Kathleen Amanda Selover, Jennifer L. Franciosa, Bridget A. (James) Galarneau, Paul Waitman Orr all of Clifton Park, NY, her twin daughters, Julie E. Orr of Chantilly VA and Joanne S. (Joseph) Hammond of Clifton Park; sister of the late Marjorie Miller; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jessica Marie Walsh.

Funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:00 AM at Corpus Christi Church on Ushers Road where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours will be from 3-5 PM Sunday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, New York 12065.

Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY
