Obituary of Donald J. Schottenham

Donald J. Schottenham, 73, of Lansingburgh, beloved husband of 38 years to Michele A. Martone Schottenham of Lansingburgh, entered into eternal life at home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Francis “Frank” and Catherine M. Vadney Schottenham and was a graduate of CBA in Albany.

Don retired after 38 years of dedicated service at the United States Postal Service, General Mail Facility in Albany.

Don was a member of the Colonie Elks BPOE#2192 in Latham. He loved his annual expeditions to Las Vegas as well as to other Casinos in the Northeast where he so loved the slot machines. Don also was an avid Classic TV shows buff and reader of print media, especially the Times Union. The computer was also a favorite of Don’s where he found much joy and excitement with the on-line games of chance too.

Beloved husband of Michele of Lansingburgh, devoted father of Brian Schottenham of Lansingburgh, brother of the late Carol Fox King, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held private at the convenience of the family and arrangements have has been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th St. in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.

There are no public calling hours.
