Obituary of Wesley George Winn

Wesley George Winn, 76, of Ballston Lake died on Monday Feb. 4, 2019 at the Saratoga Center for Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing after a brief illness.  He was born in Detroit, MI on Oct. 18, 1942 and was the son of the late Lawrence and Hilda Winkel Winn.  Wesley served with the U.S. Army 25th Infantry in Cu Chi, Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Sharpshooter (Rifel M-1). Wesley was a graduate of Wayne State University where he received his bachelors and masters degrees.  He retired from SUNY Adirondack in 1998 where he had been the Director of Public Relations. 

 

He was the beloved husband of Jane A. Youmans Winn whom he married on June 19, 1966.  He is the devoted father of  Steven W. Winn of Horseheads, NY; brother of William C. Winn of Harbor Beach, MI; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Calling hours will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday (today) in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY  12065.

 

Interment will be Saturday at 11:00 am in Stiles Cemetery in the Township of Mayfield in Michigan.
