Obituary of Vurna L. Wellsey

Vurna L. Wellsey, 72, of Third St., peacefully passed away in surrounded and in the  loving care of her family in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Vurna had a special way of caring for others and made a career having shared that love of caring as a Home Health Aid and Certified Nursing Assistant and had been employed by Accent Health Care in Troy.

“Nana” or “Nanny” as she was affectionately called by her loving family loved spending time and caring for her family. There was nothing that she loved more and she will be missed by all.

Vurna was predeceased by her loving husband John “Poppy” Wellsey on May 4, 2013,  her mother; Ullah Barkman, stepson; Tracey Wellsey and grandson; Tracey Wellsey, Jr.

She is the cherished “Nana” and “Nanny” of Tyesha Wellsey and Shawntay Wellsey and is also survived by her 8 adoring great grandchildren, 1 loving great-great grandson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In keeping with Vurna’s wishes, no public funeral services will be held.

Funeral arrangments have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
