Joanne W. Burt, 71, of Clifton Park passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at her residence after a long illness.  She was born on June 4, 1952 in Boston, Mass. and was the daughter of the late William and Virginia Borstell Winer.  She attended all of her schooling in Boston, MA.  She enjoyed traveling and sspending all of her time with her two granddaughters who were her world.  She loved them with every beat of her heart.  Joanne worked in many different fields throughout her career, until she had to retire early due to her illness.  She fought for years right up until her last breath.  She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter and grandmother, and friend.She was the beloved wife of Jerry F. Burt whom she married on May 31, 1979 and was her lifelong love.  She was a housewife and homemaker. 

 

Joanne is the devoted mother of Jerry F. Burt, Jr. and Justine MV Burt (DJ); sister of Barry Winer (Paula) of Boston, MAand Kenneth Winer (Willie) of ME; cherished grandmother of Makayla, Jada Rankin and Esti Rankin; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father Gene Gianelly and many aunts and other family members.

 

Funeral service was held privately on Tuesday from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY  12065.

 

Interment was in the Jonesville Cemetery, Clifton Park, NY
