Obituary of David Thomas Murphy

David Thomas Murphy died on Saturday, April 20th at Collar City Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Troy after a brief illness at the age of 66. 

 

David was born in Troy and graduated from Troy High School, the son of the late Henrietta Keoughan and Willard Murphy. 

 

He is survived by many friends.

 

David, a long-time parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church, had a loving heart for the world.  He had an amazing memory.  He regularly sent birthday, Christmas and holiday cards to friends and acquaintances.  He lived a modest life.  His generosity was reflected in the gifts that he gave to others. His festive Christmas and birthday parties brought together people from various walks of life. Overcoming physical challenges, he made every effort to attend Mass regularly. He had a memorable impact on people that he met and will be deeply missed.

 

His funeral Mass will be held at St Vincent de Paul Church, 900 Madison Avenue, Albany, New York on Monday, April 29th at 10AM. 

 

Calling hours will be one hour before the Mass. 

 

Donations in David’s memory may be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Church.
