I would like to extend my deepest sympathy for the loss of my good friend, Jimmy Gawinski. We were both stationed at Fort Gordon, in Georgia in 1968. We lost contact with each other after we were discharged from the Army I recently searched online and found out that Jimmy had passed away in April of 2020. Jimmy was the drummer in my band at Westcott's bar in Augusta, Georgia. I also knew his wife, Sandy. Sometimes she used to come and hear us play music at the bar. I am so deeply saddened to find out that Jimmy had passed. He had a great love for music and playing the drums. He was a true friend and I will miss him. God Bless.

So Sorry for Jim's passing.. I haven't seen him as much as i would have liked to have.. Jim was a great friend... a very good drummer and singer, and a very special man..
My condolences to Sandy and the boys.. Many years ago, when he came back to Buffalo, he called and we had dinner together.. He sure loved his family.. We talked a lot that night, mostly about old times and his great family..God Bless.

My sincere condolences to Jim’s entire family. Jim and I graduated from ECC’s Optician program in 1979, seeing him when his band played at the Ground Round restaurant at the Thruway Mall in Cheektowaga, as a lens sales consultant since 1989 I had intermittent contact with him then, only to see him at our 30th year class reunion I organized in May of 2009. JIm was always a friend and caring person. I know he’ll be missed by many.
R. I. P. buddy.

Mr Gawinski was always such a nice person, (along with Mrs Gawinski) who always made me feel welcome in their home when visiting their son, my classmate John in Country Knolls since 1st grade-12th grade. Mr and Mrs Gawinski always made jokes and thanked me for coming over. It may not seem like much but it always meant so much to me growing up. You made an impact on my life that I wish I told you sooner. I am so sorry for his family’s loss.

Growing up, Mr Gawinski was Andy and John's dad, but right around my senior year of high school that changed and he became 'Jimmer', my friend. I will always remember the countless hours of listening to music on his deck with him and my brothers andy and john. He was also a magician... one day many years ago he tricked me into betraying my beloved bears to circle the wagons with the buffalo bills. I have been bills mafia ever since. Go easy Jimmer, play those pearls up in the sky while belting out Mississippi queen, you will be missed.
