I'm so sad for all of you to be without Lynne. I was looking for her contact info online to reconnect and came across her obituary instead. A lesson to all of us to stay connected and not wait for the right/best/good time.
My favorite two memories of your mom were a trip we made to North Carolina after her bout with colon cancer. We spent a week at Lake Lake Lure, hiked on a glorious day in the Pisgah National Forest, with all the spring flowers in bloom. She struggled, but refused to quit the hike and kept that determined look and smile on her face. The second was a visit I made to her lake home and went canoeing in Lake George, across to the island with the waterfall. A storm came up on the way back, complicated by getting caught in the wake of the Minne Ha Ha. I, not the experienced passenger, got a "little" concerned about getting back to shore. Lynne calmly navigated the rough watersin a way that gave me confidence that all would be well. It's the way she lived her life.
Although we didn't have much contact in the past ten years, she was always an important friend and a part of my life story. Cherish all those memories of such a courageous, tenacious, determined woman full of love. My heart goes out to all of you.

So Sorry for your loss. I met Lynne years ago when my husband and I were moving from the Adirondacks to the Albany area to care for his aging father. Lynne showed me around HVCC and told me about the area, something, I didn't know. Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to see Lynn teaching at various clinical sites, she was truly a knowledgeable person of which I revered.

I had the privilege of knowing Lynne since 1977. I worked with her at Ellis Hospital for many years. As she had 2 years of experience when I began my career in Radiology, she was one of my role models. Her work ethic left a very positive and lasting impression on many of us lucky to work with her.
Years later I worked under her direction at HVCC mentoring students in their clinical settings. Again in this role she held high standards.
Her commitment to excellence was unwavering. She will be missed by many but her tremendous influence in our profession will live on.

Kaarn, Eli, Alex, Tracey, Doug, Collette and Big Al;
Words can’t express the sadness I feel with Lynne’s passing. It’s still surreal. I didn’t see her often but we had a connection I can’t explain.
MJ and I loved sharing a paddle or camping trip with her. She is really the only person we would go on a camping trip with. Her company was so calming, honest and nonjudgmental. You could get back to nature and away from it all with her since she didn’t interfere with how you wanted to just be on the water or in the woods.
The expressions I’ve read of love, respect and friendship towards Lynne have been amazing. She sure had an impact on everyone that knew her. I’m sure you’re all proud of the wonderful, wise, caring person that she was. I can’t imagine your feeling of loss.
I’m so glad you gave so many of us a chance to communicate with her and keep informed during her hospital stay. It was nice to know how she was doing and she got to see how many people cared so deeply about her. Thank you for that!
She contacted me just before she put her diagnosis on Facebook. We had one long phone conversation. She mentioned she wanted to beat it but she would be ok if she couldn’t. She said she had a good life. We had a similar conversation 20 years ago with her second cancer. We could philosophize about life and death.
She was that old friend you didn’t have to see often, just take over where you left off when we saw her. She was a steady rock for so many. I didn’t know how much she meant until she was gone. I’ll miss her terribly.
She came to us on Saturday at dusk in the form of a Great Blue Heron at our pond. She flew across the pond in front of us then walked slowly at waters edge in a calm and reassuring way. MJ and I looked at each other and said it’s a sign from Lynne that she’s OK. It made us smile a little. She’s at peace with her parents and Suki.
When we’re all on the water or in the woods I’m sure she’ll be with us. Look for a sign she’s watching over you all. She’ll be in the wind, on a leaf floating down a stream, in the ray of sunlight reflecting off the water. Her light will forever shine in our hearts. She had a special pure energy that will never die.
My love and condolences to you all.
Jane and Mary Jane

Jane and MJ;
Thank you so much for your kind and beautiful words about Mom; it brings us peace and fills our hearts. You really captured her spirit, how she could take in the serenity and peace of being in nature, and I have no doubt that Blue Heron was her checking in with you. She loved you and cherished your special friendship.
Much Love;
Kaarn and Alex
