Obituary of Carmen M. McGuirk

Carmen M. Nedoroscik McGuirk, 91, of Troy, beloved wife of the late George Nedoroscik and William “Bill” McGuirk, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

 

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Eudora Versailles Langlais and was educated at St. Joseph’s School in Cohoes.

 

Carmen worked as a machine operator at Tek-Hughes in Watervliet for 30 ½ years and retired in 1992.

 

She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingbugh and previously a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Cohoes. Carmen loved to crochet, do puzzles, play cards and going shopping and to the casino.

 

Devoted mother of Christina Ned of Troy, Charlene (John) Moore of Watervliet, Susan (Gary) Rogers of Raleigh, NC, Mary Ellen Economos of Nashville, TN and Nancy Nedoroscik of Clifton Park, sister of the late Roger, Robert and Harvey Langlais, cherished grandmother of Eric Daly, Megan Rogers, Jonathan Ned, Kaysie Moore, Taylor Dunkelbarger, Alex Rodgers, Matthew Economos, Stefanie Economos, Samantha Frank, Theresa Honsinger and Christopher Honsinger, great grandmother of Felix, Mason, Makenzie, Alice, John, Mariah, Destiny, Jack, Adrienne, Evelyn (Evvy), Austin, Max, Carmen, Colton and Myron, also survived by several nieces and nephews.  

 

Relatives and friends are invited to Carmen’s Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 12 Noon at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh which will be followed by burial in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waterford.

 

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Carmen M. McGuirk.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue, Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends will be invited will be held, when restrictions have been eased, at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh followed by the burial in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waterford.
