Pete Simpson was a close personal friend and fellow classmate of mine since 1957. While we were several states apart, we stayed in touch by both telephone and e-mail. Pete would send us news clippings of interest from the Capital District, and on several occasions that resulted in my wife and I personally visiting Pete and Pat at their home in Ballston Lake. Pete was accomplished not only in his professional life in accounting, but also in his continual study of classical music, his observations about New York and the national governments, and about people in general. His wry sense of humor was a constant source of entertainment. His most exceptional characteristic, though, was his devotion to his family, the two daughters and their families in the Washington, DC area, and his consistent attention to his wife, Pat. Pete was always at her side, and that continued in recent years when she became infirmed. Pat was able to continue with a busy, meaningful life because of Pete's attention and devotion. Pete's passing was both sudden and unexpected. A life fully lived and an exemplary man - that was Pete Simpson. Ed and Judy Hines, Bloomington, Illinois
