Obituary of Dr. Lawrence Louis Mautone
Please share a memory of Dr. Lawrence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dr. Lawrence Louis Mautone, 74, of Summit Trail in Halfmoon passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Tuesday January 31, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, his wife Donna, daughter Angela Mayhew and son-in-law Brian Mayhew. He was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC on September 28, 1942 and was the son of the late Dr. Rocco H. Mautone and Ann Marie (Mamie) Boriotti Mautone. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. John (Debbie) Mautone of Millerton, NY.
He was a graduate of Marlboro High School, as well as an extremely proud graduate of Villanova University and Georgetown University Dental School. His professional accomplishments were highlighted by a successful career in Periodontic dentistry. He was a staff member of both Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals, as well as a member and officer of the 3rd. District Dental Society. He was a member of the Kingston Zoning Board. In addition to holding a seat on the Ulster County board of Health, he concluded his career at Met Life as a dental consultant. Larry’s personality was large. To say he was well loved by friends, neighbors, family and virtually anyone he met is an understatement. He enjoyed sitting in front of a roaring fire, reading and watching Villanova Basketball. His love of food was immense. He enjoyed talking about it almost as much as eating it and we are sure that many will remember his favorite question, “where are you having for dinner”. He enjoyed his trips to Maine and Woodstock, VT with his wife Donna and spending time with his grandchildren. He was smart, kind and funny, an honest and true person.
Survivors in addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, Donna L. Mautone, include his children, Angela (Brian) Mayhew of Mechanicville and Lawrence R. (Susan) Mautone of Kingston. He was predeceased by his oldest daughter Dana Mautone (Stephen) and his sister Josephine Engel. He is the cherished grandfather of Sophia, Isabella, Nico, Daniel, Andrew, Jace, Jair and Jax. He leaves behind his loving and sweet cats, Mabel and Violet.
Funeral will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd. in Clifton Park.
A Calling hour will precede the Mass of Christian Burial in the Chapel at St. Edward’s Church.
