Robert Lavender Miter, Jr., 90, of Lansingburgh, beloved husband of 57 years of Marguerite Elizabeth Gagnon Miter of Lansingburgh, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 30, 2021.

 

Born in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late Robert Lavender Miter, Sr. and Frances Tynan Miter, and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War.

 

Mr. Miter retired in 1993 from Mohawk Paper Mill having worked in both Cohoes and Waterford for 34 years.

 

He was an avid gardener and loved the Hudson River, especially living along the river.

 

Beloved husband of Marguerite, devoted father of Lori A. Humphrey of Pleasantdale, Jeffrey Robert Miter of Latham and Susan Marie Fahrenkopf of Saylorsburg, PA.  Also survived by 3 loving grandchildren, and 9 cherished great grandchildren.

 

Private funeral services have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

 

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, in memory of Robert L. Miter, Jr.
