Obituary of Julie M. Garabedian

Julie M. Garabedian, 99, of Ninth Avenue, peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

Born and educated in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Nazar and Lucy Kochian Tutunjian and was the beloved wife of over 66 years of Sarkis Garabedian until his passing in 2015.

Mrs. Garabedian was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and assisted her husband in the operation of their family business, the Charles Tailors in Troy. She had for a few years been employed at Cluett, Peabody & Co. in Troy.

She was a communicant of St. Peter’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet and attended Redeeming Love Gospel Church in Troy. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society as well as Vartan at St. Peter’s and a member of the Troy Senior Citizens.

Devoted mother Lucy (Augustus) Vozzy of Halfmoon, Christopher (Dawn) Garabedian of Glenmont and Linda (James) Khachadourian of Troy; cherished grandmother of Chad (Teresa) Vozzy, Eric Vozzy, Josh (Rachael) Khachadourian, Jeremy (Hannah) Khachadourian and Christopher Garabedian; great grandmother of Gianna and Luke Vozzy, Elyse and Jace Khachadourian, Nora and Sarkis Khachadourian and Gavin Khachadourian, loving aunt of Gary Londis, Roslyn Baker and Bobby Tutunjian.

A private visitation and funeral will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Armenian Apostolic Church, 100 Troy- Schenectady Rd., P.O. Box 196, Watervliet, NY 12189, by Rev. Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian, Parish Priest.

For the safety of all, due to the pandemic, there are no public calling hours or services.

Private interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.

In lieu of flowers, the family desires that memorial contributions may be made to

St. Peter’s Armenian Apostolic Church, P.O. Box 196, Watervliet, NY 12189, in memory of Julie M. Garabedian.
