Obituary of Harold J. Goyer

   Goyer, Harold - Grafton - Harold J Goyer, 88, of County Rt 85 went home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2021. Harold was born, raised, educated and lived in Grafton his entire life. Harold was predeceased by his wife, Elsie, in 2010 after 60 years of marriage. He was the second of nine children of Nettie Stowell. Harold was a life member of the Grafton Fire Department, serving with them for 73 years. He served as an Assistant Chief for many years. Harold drove the fire trucks to the scene up until just a few years ago. He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting with friends, playing cards, being at camp, square dancing and working at the monthly Fire Department breakfast. For many years Harold worked 2 jobs. He was a brakeman for Republic Steel in Troy and a roofer by day for many different companies. His final retirement was from the Town of Grafton Highway Department. Harold is survived by his 5 children James (Dale) Goyer, Sr., Richard (Cathy) Goyer, Regina (William) Goodermote, Sharon (Michael) Crandall Sr., Terence (Eva) Goyer. 13 Grandchildren: Brenda Insero, Melissa Rifenburg, James Goyer, Jr, Maeghan Wilson, Jennifer Goodermote, Michael Crandall Jr, Carrie Minkler, Samantha Crandall, Erika Ambrose, Jessica Fontaine, Mary Crandall, Mikayla Goyer, Devon Goyer. 35 Great-grandchildren: Mitchell, Julia, Vanessa, Dylan, Angelina, Jacob, Chase, Brandon, Gabriella, Avery, Connor, Nora, Jaelyn, Cole, Ryan, Nikki, Alexis, Alicia, Charlotte, Lilliana, Giavanna, Bentley, Greenly, Cody, Christoper, Mikenzie, Sadie, Jason, Christian, A’niylah, Everlie, Alexander, Charlotte Rose, Colin and Jayden. Harold is also survived by 2 brothers, Thomas and Carl, and 2 sisters, Judy and Mary. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 22 at 10 am at the Grafton Baptist Church, 11 Owen Road, Grafton, NY 12082. Interment will follow at the Grafton Center Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm.
