The Yankee Doodle Band was one of Chuck’s Home Bases for over 50 years. A loyal snare drummer in 100s of parades, Chuck ventured to places such as San Antonio, Anaheim and Honolulu. Chuck was also a rock in the percussion section for many important and routine concerts. He was famous for his Green Giant bag of percussion accessories when we in the drumline would depend on him to furnish an appropriate “noisemaker.”
We are already missing him dearly, and we think of him especially now as we rehearse Anderson’s classic “Sleigh Ride”, and Chuck is not around to play the “horses hooves” on his woodblocks.
