Obituary of Joseph T. Cummings

     Joseph T. Cummings, 84, of Clifton Park died on Saturday Nov. 13, 2021 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.  He was born in Albany on Jan. 4, 1937 and was the son of the late Joseph and Myrl Miller Cummings.  Joe was a graduate of Albany High School.  He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He had been a truck driver for the United States Postal Service in Albany for over 35 years.   He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.  He was an avid bowler and also enjoyed the games of chance.  A meaningful season for Joe was his part as “Santa” during the holidays.  He was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.

     He was the beloved husband of Shirley Marie Wagoner Cummings, whom he married on June 21, 1958; devoted father of Kathleen (Douglas) Kaufman, Ann M. (David) Chittenden both of Clifton Park and Mary Beth (Brian) Champagne of Ballston Lake; brother of Connie (James) Lanzilotti of Troy and the late Jack, Patrick and James Cummings; grandfather of Kirsten, Keith, Amber, Kyle, Courtney, Chloe, Matthew, Ashley, Michael and Andrew; also survived by 5 great grandchildren.

     Funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

     Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Interment with full military honors will be at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
