I met Herbie when he and Marianna moved down the hall from my mom at the Eddy. Being able to speak German with him made my mother’s stay there so much more enjoyable. He also would speak Polish with my husband. Many times when I came to visit after work, I would find Herbie and my mom and Mardi sitting on the bench by the elevator just talking. He was such a nice man. I am saddened by his passing but am sure he and Marianna are happy again. And I’m sure my mom and Mardi and all of his other friends from the Eddy who passed before him are happy to see him once again. Our condolences to his family.
Sincerely, Anita and Jack Adamchick

Herbie was a fantastic man and a great friend. We worked together at Sage for over twenty years. It was great good fortune that brought us together here at Eddy. We shared many good times here, including a nice luncheon a few months ago, attended by a number of former Russell Sage employees. Sleep well, sweet prince. Roger Armstrong
