Obituary of Marilyn R. Gordon

Marilyn R. Gordon, 89, of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Wednesday Jan. 25, 2023 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.  She was born on  Feb. 28,  1933 in Binghamton, NY and was the daughter of the late George Washington and Viola Marion Busch Kessler, predeceased by brothers George A. Keesler and Elwyn C. Keesler.  Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold C. “Red” Gordon, whom she married on Dec. 31, 1955 and he passed in 2005. 

 

She was raised and educated in Binghamton, graduating from North Senior High School, she went on to graduate from SUNY Cobleskill in 1953.   Upon graduation she was a dietitian at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.  She moved to Cobleskill after marrying her husband Harold, where she was a long-time resident, worked at Grand Union as cashier, then later was a housewife and homemaker.  She was a member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church.   Marilyn enjoyed various outdoor activities and sharing in her two daughters’ hobbies.

 

She is the devoted mother of Annmarie K. Gordon and Laurie J. Lape (the late Michael) and survived by nephew Ronald E. Keesler and grandnephews and nieces. 

 

Graveside service will be held in the spring in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Harold.
