Obituary of Ernest H. Wachtel

Ernest H. “Ernie” Wachtel, 87, of South Troy, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at home on Friday, March 31, 2023.

 

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late George E. and Esther E. Claren Wachtel and was a graduate of the Tamarac High School (Brittonkill Central Schools).

 

Mr. Wachtel retired from Troy Cabinet Mfg. in South Troy where he had been a Custom Cabinetmaker and had previously been employed at Valente Sand & Gravel in Wynantskill. Mr. Wachtel also owned and operated Ernies Lawn Care which he took great pride in maintaining meticulous lawns and flower care in many neighborhoods in the Brunswick area.

 

Ernie was an avid race fan and could be found at local dirt track races.

 

Devoted father of Jay E. Wachtel and Brian (Ellen) Wachtel and their mother Mary Louise Kane, all of Troy, cherished grandfather of Zachary Wachtel, Cassidy Wachtel and Allie Wachtel, twin brother of the late Jean S. Wachtel and the late Paul G. Wachtel, Uncle of George Wachtel and Paula Wachtel Lineback.

 

In keeping with Mr. Wachtels wishes, his funeral arrangements will be private.
