“From the first when Jack came into our lives I was completely enamored with him! I was only about seven at the time and I just couldn’t get enough … he was so full of life and joy, always funny and smiling and friendly. It was like a party every time he and Millie came to visit because he brought so much happiness with him.
One time early on I used the word hate in front of Jack and he quickly whisked me off to a quiet corner to give me a scolding about how offensive that word is to God. I cried just as much for disappointing Jack as I did for offending God! The thing is it was the most gentle scolding I ever had and I had no doubt when he was done that he cared!
As I got older he would come around and talk to me about school and books and what to read and what to stay away from. He may have thought I wasn’t listening but I hung on his every word and would later write down as much as I could remember. I used to talk so much about Jack at school that my best friend Kathy once quipped that she felt sorry for whoever I might marry because I would be forever comparing him to Jack.
Later when trying to figure out what to do for a career Jack brought me a whole bunch of papers he had gotten at a seminar on Human relations. I held on to those and studied them until they were yellow and falling apart. His advice on how to work with other people is what helped me be successful in management.
Observing Jack over the years I can say he genuinely cared about everyone he met. He listened to what people had to say and was very engaged in every conversation. He truly cared and always greeted people as brother, beautiful, dear, and most often friend.
Jack wasn’t just a brother-in-law he was a father figure, spiritual guide, mentor and friend. Jack Kosier was and always will be the greatest role model of my life.❤️

To say that my Uncle Jack was the kindest, warmest person I’ve ever known would be the understatement of the century. Although we didn’t get to see each other often, whenever we did, it always felt like we were best friends that saw each other every week. When I think of him I can picture him greeting me with a smile, a hug and a big hi friend or a hey Danny and I will forever miss those moments. As a kid, I remember always thinking that I was his favorite nephew…and while part of me wants to believe that is true, as I’ve grown older I realize that was his superpower and that’s what made him one of the most loved and respected people I’ve ever met. I don’t think there is a person that has met him who didn’t feel like the most important person in the world when he was around. Whether he was asking me about life, giving me advice, or slipping me a $50 for gas, I’ll forever cherish and miss those moments when he’d wrap his arm around me and I felt like the most important and loved person in the world. RIP Uncle Jack, thank you for bringing so much light into this world
