Obituary of Stephen James Kennedy Smith

Stephen James Kennedy Smith, 54 of Schenectady, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Born in Troy, New York, he was the son of Susan Kennedy Terry and the late Stephen Smith and was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1988.

Stephen was a Cashier at Rite Aid in Schenectady and was previously employed at the Schenectady County Department of Social Services for 7 years.

He enjoyed cooking and gardening, loved his family, decorating, listening to music and the holidays, especially Christmas. He was also a proud dog parent.

Devoted son of Susan Kennedy Terry; beloved brother of Susan Terry Andujar, Tara Terry, Shenyell Smith, Dominique Smith (Domi), Dion Demetchres Gardner-Crichlow, Sabrina Smith and Kimberly Jackson, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by Earl Miller who was his life-partner for 25 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00  p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. both at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
