Obituary of Jeffrey Porter Alling

Jeffrey Porter Alling went home to the Lord on March 21, 2024, in Zephyrhills, FL at the age of 74. He was born on February 5, 1950, in Albany, NY.

Jeff was a proud Marine Corps veteran who enlisted in June of 1967 and served in Vietnam until his Honorable Discharge in January of 1971. 

Jeff was a Residential Contractor renowned for his talent in drawing blueprints and constructing beautiful works for his customers.

Outside of his professional life, Jeff enjoyed spending time with his dear friends and family, riding and building Harley Davidsons, hunting with The Albany County Fish and Game Club, camping and fishing with his loved ones, and playing cards. Jeff was an avid participant in his VA support groups where he built lifelong friendships. Jeff was blessed with many close friends in his neighborhood on Betts Dr. in Florida, where he retired. Our family is most grateful for his close friendship with family friend, Jack Morrison, who not only provided an amazing friendship, but also so much support in the years he and Jeff were neighbors. We thank you and all of Jeff’s friends for the love you showed him. 

Jeff was known by his friends and family as an extremely generous man. Not only did he provide his children with endless love and support he also helped many friends and family in their times of need. 

He is survived by his children Jeffrey Alling Jr (Theresa), Marc Alling, Jennifer Alling-Breault, Alissa Alling, his grandchildren Jeffrey Alling III (Ashlee), Nicholas Alling, Theodore Biddle Jr., David Breault Jr., and Grace Breault. Also his siblings David Alling (Linda), Stephen Alling, Joanne Alling-Lowery, Nancy Jaworski (Jon), Barbara Markes (Daryl) and Susan Morrison. As well as his great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Aileen (Bahret) Alling.

A service to honor Jeff’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 16th beginning at 10:30 at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. 

Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with a family lead blessing beginning at 12:30 p.m. A committal service with military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery beginning at 2:30 p.m.
