Obituary of Edward William Fernet
Sweet Edward W. Fernet, 48, of Waterford, took his last breath on August 16th, 2024.
Born in Albany NY, on August 14th, 1976, Ed attended Waterford-Halfmoon School, was a volunteer firefighter and was honored to be a part of the U.S. NAVY. He also was a well celebrated and held many awards for his work as a civilian contractor in Aviano, Italy. Edward was always an outstanding patriot. Back in the states, Eddy and his brother, the late Timmy, established “Fernet Contracting” which they successfully managed until their passing.
Eddy was an amazing person with an unforgettable pride and a beaming smile constantly on his face! He was an amazing father, a loving Grandpa, a caring Uncle, a kind Cousin, a proud Son. Always beaming with pride, he loved his family and friends more than everything, a close second being only wildlife, nature and the outdoors. Eddy honored his Native American heritage and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to go camping, fishing/hunting with his family and friends. Edward was an excellent shot with anything he picked up, a trait he passed down. He was kind and his unwavering support and compassion will remain unmatched. Always more than willing to sit and talk for hours and hours, day or night.
Eddy, always someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about. Someone to learn from and someone to respect. He was someone to listen to and someone to talk to, someone to try and impress, even sometimes rebel against. Most of all, Eddy was always there to share everything this wonderful life has to offer.
Edward is preceded in death by his brother Timothy J. Fernet, his sister, Maria L. Fernet, his mother, Ella Mae Fernet and his nephew, Brandon Sylvester.
He is survived by his loving children Zoe M. Fernet, Makenzie L. Fernet, who are survived by their mother, Emmilee Travers and Michael E. Fernet (Lydia Shudt). Ed is also survived by his adoring grandchildren; Myla, Estella, Alaura and Dru Fernet. He is survived by his brother William E. Fernet Jr, sister Ellie M. Sylvester and Tim Sylvester along with his Father William (Bill) E. Fernet. Also a Plethora of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and lifelong friends survived.
