Michael J. Fitzpatrick, 83, of Town of Schaghticoke, formerly of SFC Peter M. Guenette Apartments in Lansingburgh, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

 

Michael was born in Troy, New York and was the son of the late Wilfred and Marjorie Jalet Fitzpatrick and was a graduate of Troy High School.

 

Michael was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, having served proudly from 1959 to 1963 and from 1973 to 1974. He was a recipient of the Rifle Marksman Badge, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was also a proud member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh.

 

He had been a Bus Driver for First Student Bus Co. in Troy for 20 years.

 

Michael was the brother of Marie Ostrander, Katherine Galarneau, Marjorie Sousie, Aloma Fitzpatrick and Wilfred F. Fitzpatrick, Jr.

 

Michael was laid to rest with U.S. Marine Corps and Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard Honors privately as he requested at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

 

Michael desired that those wishing remember him to please make any memorial contributions to the Veterans of Lansingburgh, 777 1st Ave, Troy, NY 12182.

 

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182.
