Hon. Allan Thomas Brown, 92, of Route 9 in Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Thursday Oct. 17, 2024. He was born on April 22, 1932 in Salem, NY and was the son of the late Harold J. and Elinor Baird Brown. Allan was a graduate of Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake High school, class of 1950. He had been with the NYS Police for 3 years and then honorably served in the US Army from 1955-1956. Following his military service, Allan worked for 14 years for the Borden Corp. and 22 years with the Grand Union Company as an accountant. Allan served as the Town Justice for Halfmoon from 1966 – 1986. In 1987 he was the proprietor of D.A.M Liquors in Halfmoon, retiring in 2014 at the age of 82.

 

He was the beloved husband of Marian A. Boyce Brown, who died Nov. 4, 2006; devoted father of Debra E. (Maurice) Haas of Montgomery, OH and the late Darlene E. Brown; brother of the late Carol Van Housen, Norman, Donald and Rodney Brown; grandfather of Kristal, Michelle and Jennifer; great grandfather of Jade, Dean, Calvin and Colton. He was anxiously awaiting his 5th great grandchild, Georgia; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral will be held on Tuesday Oct. 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

 

A calling hour will precede the funeral service from 1- 2 pm in the funeral home.

 

Interment will be in Hudson View Cemetery, Halfmoon, NY
