Obituary of Melvina Borrero

Melvina Borrero, 78, of Troy, beloved wife for 59 years to Jose Borrero, peacefully entered into eternal life at home surrounded by all of her loving family on Sunday, October 20, 2024

Born and educated in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Parnell and the late Genevieve LaWare.

Mrs. Borrero was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and confidant.

She loved spending time with her family, was a computer enthusiast and worshipped at Redeeming Love Church in Brunswick.

Beloved wife of Jose, devoted mother of Karen A. (Mark) Sousis, Sandra A. Kumi, Susan A. (Michael) Gibson, Samaria M.C. (David Jr.) Anderson and the late Rosa Alicea, sister of the late James Parnell, the late Charles Parnell, the late Thomas Parnell, the late Violet Acevedo and the late Donald Parnell, also survived by 9 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to Noon and to the Funeral Service that day at Noon all at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh, Troy, NY 12182.

Interment will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Colonie.
