Obituary of Harold B. Perkins
Harold B. Perkins, 95, formerly of Main Street, died on Monday Sept. 4, 2017 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga. He was born on June 13, 1922 and was the son of the late Harold A. and Mary Davis Perkins. He was a graduate of Waterford High School and served honorably in the US Army with the 290th Combat Engineers during World War II. Harold was a former P.O.W. in Germany. He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie J. Stiles Perkins, whom he married on Sept. 20, 1944. Harold retired from SR Beltrone in Latham where he had been a master carpenter. He was a 65 year member of the Ondawa Lodge #820 and past master of the F&AM in Mechanicville. He was a charter member of American Legion Mohawk Post 1450 in Halfmoon. He served as past commander and NYS Commander of the Northeast P.O.W.’s and was a faithful member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church.
He is the devoted father of William Perkins of Saratoga Lake,NY, Claudia Coffey of Greenfield Center, NY, Bruce Perkins of Jonesville, NY and Kathy (Thomas) Fedorchak of Saratoga Lake, NY; cherished grandfather of James, Micah, Karen, Danielle, Hannah, Courtney, Brittany and Theodora; his great granddaughter and pride and joy, Maddox; brother of the late Robert and Edward Perkins and Ruth Clark; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Friday morning at 11:30 am in the Jonesville United Methodist Church, 963 Main Street, Jonesville, NY 12065.
Calling hours will be from 5-8 pm Thursday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park, NY 12065
Interment with full military honors will be on Tuesday Sept. 12, 2017 at 12:30 pm in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
