Obituary of Jerry Alan Baker

Jerry Alan Baker, 61, of Fellows Road, died on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born at home in Brant Lake, NY on October 13, 1955 and was the son of the late Walter and Frances L. Mocerine Baker. Jerry was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School and served in the US Army from 1973-1976 in Goeppingen, Germany. He was employed as a Pipe fitter/Welder for the Plumber and Steamfitters Union Local# 7 in Latham, NY retiring in 2010. He was a lover of nature, enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping in the Adirondacks. He was an avid downhill skier and Kayaker. He is the beloved husband of Patrice M. Rexford Baker; Father of Benjamin M. Baker of Plattsburgh, NY; brother of Charles (Jean) Baker of Pottersville, NY, Thomas (Beverly) Baker of Ocala, FL, Edward (Patsy) Baker of Natalie, VA., Timothy Baker and the late Samuel Baker (Nancy) of Chestertown, NY, Joyce Morrison of Albany, Luanna (Charles) Kornacki of Ocala, FL, Judy Earl of Duanesburgh, NY and Janice Cleveland of Ballston Spa, NY; Grandfather of Hannah and Tyler Baker, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:30 a.m.in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. Calling hours will be from 4-8 pm Thursday in the funeral home. Interment with Military honors will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
