Obituary of Mary Ann Cassidy
Mary Ann Piche Cassidy, of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen McDermott Piche and was the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Cassidy, Sr., who passed away on February 11, 1994.
Mrs. Cassidy had been employed for many years as a waitress at Mario’s Theater Restaurant (now Franklin Terrace) in Troy.
Mary Ann loved to read books, to crochet, get together with “the girls” for lunch and spending time with her children and their families.
She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Beloved mother of Philip J. “John” (Tracie) Cassidy, Jr., of Watervliet, Christopher S. (Darcy) Cassidy, Alice Ann Cassidy, Margaret “Peggy” (Ralph) Cioffi and James E. (Mary Kay) Cassidy, all of Troy, sister of Helen (late, Joseph) Carroll of Troy, Catherine (William) Palazzo of White Plains and Edward “Ned” (Ann Marie) Piche of Pittstown, cherished “Nan” of the late Kyle Patrick Cassidy and also of Eric (Allison) Cassidy, Chad (fiancé Alexandra Campito) Cassidy, Philip John (Jennifer) Cassidy, III, Ryan Cassidy, Dr. Alexandra A. (Ryan) Burke, M.D., Dominick Cioffi, Garrett P. Cassidy, Francesca M. Cioffi, Louis Cioffi, Justus Cassidy, Liam Cassidy and Angelica Cassidy, adored great “Nan” of Maggie Joan Cassidy and Emma Cassidy Burke, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, 25 - 115th Street, Troy NY 12182.
In keeping with Mary Ann’s wishes, calling hours will be held private for her family.
Interment will follow the Mass and be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Troy.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Franciscan Friars Of The Atonement, Graymoor, PO Box 312, Garrison, NY 10524-0313 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959, in memory of Mary Ann Cassidy.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Community Hospice Nurse Marsha Hall for her loving care.
